2022 as been a eye opener when we look at energy costs! This is now the time to look at alternative ways to warm and cool our homes. Air source heating is an option.
Climate change is also changing our environment in the uk.
We will start to see more years where hot weather becomes the normal in our summers.
But our homes weren’t built to accommodate this.
With Air Source Heating there are options to bring cooling into your home.

Please keep reading to find out more about AIR SOURCE HEATING....

WHAT IS A
HEAT PUMP?

An air source heat pump or sometimes known as an air-to-water source heat source pump, transfers heat from outside air into water vapour. The water is then sent to a conventional tank which heats your heating system and hot water.

Government Grants (BUS)

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) supports the decarbonisation of heat in buildings. It provides upfront capital grants to support the installation of heat pumps and biomass boilers in homes and non-domestic buildings in England and Wales.

Acting on behalf of property owners, installers can apply for:

  • £5000 off the cost and installation of an air source heat pump

  • £5000 off the cost and installation of a biomass boiler

  • £6000 off the cost and installation of a ground source heat pump, including water source heat pumps

£450 million of grant funding is available over three years from 2022 to 2025.

What's The BEST TYPe Of HEATING FOR MY HOUSE?

AIR SOURCE HEATING isn't for everyone. With the nature of different homes in the UK, it's not viable to install AHS in every home.

  • Small apartments with small or little storage space and no access to external walls, AHS wouldn't work. Electric panel heaters and direct WH are the normal route on this type of property.

  • Homes that still have a water tank or cupboard where it once was, AHS works easier.

  • Homes that have garages that are used for storage now, can easily have the equipment install in that space.

  • Even homes that don't have the indoor space for Water Tanks but have garden space can have AHS. Please see below our external plant rooms details below.

What if I Don't have the SPACE!

Air Source Heating as its down side

We has a nation have spent years moving away from the original ways of having Hot Water and Heating. Older Homes would have either had Coal or Gas Fires with back burners transferring the heat to a water tank located somewhere else in the home.

But most of us now have a Combi-Boiler in our home. Some may still have the original tank room/cupboard. But again most took these out to make way for bigger rooms.

Air Source Heating needs an area for a water tank. This now causing an issue with most homes in the UK.

We at Loxdale push old ideas in a modern way. There are many ways to locate the modern style tanks needed for Air Source Heating. Either in the conventional Airing Cupboards if it still exists in the home. In a garage or Spare room, but this option takes up areas that are probably already in use.

Here at Loxdale we have designed a bespoke External Plant Room. Which can house the Tanks and Heat Pump. This also looks aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
